Alex
Moana Adventure and Moana Surf School were both started by Alex. He has grown up all over the world, and this has given him a life full of travel and adventure. Due to his fathers work and also due to Alex´s constant desire to travel and explore he has always looked for more challenges. When he was six months old Alex went to Papua New Guinea were he grew up and lived until he was nine with his parents. Alex later returned to England to go to a “proper school.” and eventually settled down enough to get a degree.

Since university Alex has continued travelling worldwide and had new adventures working in Japan, crossing China by train, surfing in Peru and teaching the Presidents daughter English, climbing and snowboarding in Kyrgyzstan (first ascent and descent of Mount Karakolski with snowboard) amongst other adventures.

Alex also went to Hawaii surfing and windsurfing also working as a surf instructor at the Maui Surf Academy where he was put in charge of organising the school, students and instructors. After coming back to Europe he set up Moana Surf School five years ago and Moana surf school has since then gone from strength to strength.

Alex has most recently been working as a captain on luxury motor boats in Spain. He left the surf school in capable hands but has now returned with his Yachtmaster qualification and new experiences to what he calls home. Alex now wants to provide a great service using all his experience to personalise and create tailor made holidays to all those who come to explore this amazing corner of Portugal.
